The Mount Maunganui Cricket Club have added to their strong bowling stocks by acquiring Northern Brave Pace bowler Matt Fisher and Bay of Plenty Pace bowler Sam Lund.

The Pace duo's commitment to the Cricket Club comes timely, as the Marlins' unfortunately have lost two other representative bowlers in Brett Randell and Dave Hancock, over the current off season.

Premier Skipper, Ben Musgrave, is excited to see the value the pair can add to the premier squad this summer.

"With a couple guys leaving this season, it’s nice to add to the bowling stocks with 'Fish' and 'Lundy'. I have no doubt they will have a positive impact on the culture and performance of the Club.

Matt Fisher Joins the MMCC as a highly regarded player. His 29 wickets in 22 matches (across all forms) for Northern Districts sees him as one of the Best young quick bowlers in the country. The 22 year old will be sure to bring some genuine pace to the Mount bowling attack, as he is consistently pushing 140KM even going back to his NZ under 19 representative days.

Sam Lund is a Rotorua native and has turned out for the Central Indian's for the past 3 seasons. Lund curated a successful past summer, where he helped the Central Indians to the Williams cup final and Also played his first Match for the Bay Of Plenty Mens side, in the Fergus Hickey Two day competition.

Lund says that his change of allegiance is going to be of great benefit for his development

"The Mount is a club I am excited to play for because of the team culture and guys that I can learn off. I know a lot of the current players and know how good they will be for my development."

"[I plan to] bring dedication to the club as well as another option to be added to the pace attack."

With Pre-season right around the corner, the club is excited to integrate the new recruits and get stuck into the 2022/23 season.
